Hi all, I have a stable verion of server 2008 std running, but have a problem configuring the fax. Does anyone know how to set up the fax or have a any links to a tutorial? TIA C or should that be fax SERVER? lol

I Have a problem with Windows Server 2008 Networking. Basically I have my server configured with 2 NICs one for Lan & one for Internet (WAN). The problem I have is that they have both joined the same network location (Domain Network) but obviously this isnt correct what I want to achieve is to have the LAN as domain network and WAN as Public Network As you will see from this screenshot it has both NICs currently in the domain network next to test.local http://www.nizzy.co.uk/problem.jpg I Want One in Domain Network & the other in Public Network The main problem is that because they have joined the same network location Incoming SMTP Stops working a…

Automatic conection to WiFi network

I have 2 notebooks with windows server 2008 on first and windows XP on second. Both of the notebook has wifi cards. I configured ad-hoc wifi connection on notebooks. The connection is work, but if computer was restarted the connection will not restore automaticly. I is obliged to do it by hand. One time notebooks were connecting automaticly, but it works during a day. I want connect my computers automaticly when windows is runned.

Hello, I have ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 video card. Not long ago I installed Windows Server 2008 and Catalist driver for Vista. The windows is support themes (Aero) and dxdiag write that 3d acceleration is enabled. But if I run any game it's write that my video card is not support 3d acceleration and hugely brakes. May be some one kown how I can fix this problem, may be I should install other driver for video card. Thanks in advance.

Hi there :) My IIS7 is now running almost flawlessly on my x64 server. The "only" little issue left, is a real bugger. I can't seem to initiate any of the "older" classic ASP objects which I have registered using regsvr32. No matter the object or ASP file, I get this error: Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01ad' ActiveX component can't create object Has anyone experienced this? Sincerely, Klaus J.

I installed the Datacenter version from the trial CD I got at the Heroes launch and now it's prompting me to activate and it is asking for a datacenter key, but I don't have that, how do I get a datacenter trial key or get around this problem? Thanks for any help.

Hi Everyone, I have server 2008 running ok, IIS7 on running ok, the application runs ok I go to localhost/app and runs ok, everythings ok. Do i need to turn any Server Role to make it live (Hello to the world) like the DNS Server role? I assume a static IS will be required too right? Thanks for the help. Im a designer but i always bough hosting i want to start hosting my own stuff. L3ny@msn.com

I have been googlin but i cant find an answer. Anyone here knows? Becaus when i go to the site folder(http://localhost/stats) it just shows the files inside. i need it to host the statistic page, its a .XSL file. it also got a .css file with the same name as the .XSL file.

So i have been searching for a way to secure the mysql password in the php.ini, but i can only find difficult ways on how to do it. Anyone got an easy step by step on how to make the mysql password in the php.ini file? I have heard that hash is the easiest way to go, but how does it comunicate with the mysql sever with just random signs? is there more i gotta do for the hash to work?

So im trying to run a server application when i get this error: Activation context generation failed for "D:\ascent-logonserver.exe". So I'm trying to install MySQL on the server i get to the point where i gotta do the configuration wizard, but the wizard wont start. Hi there :) Being an active ASP scripter, I really need IIS to tell me where any of my ASP (classic) pages fail, should I have made an error of some sort. In IIS 6, I'd see an error message telling me at which line I might have an error. IIS7...just tells me that there's an internal server error. I have enabled client side debugging etc. in the IIS 7 manager, and also disabled MSIE's "show nice error messages" but I have yet to see my "beloved" error messages. So how do I get those back? Thanks in advance...

Kicking off Admin config pages for site appearance We’re just about to shift from design to development on some of the improvements we’ve been designing in areas related to site appearance to make it easier for admins to configure the look and feel of their sites. Our current plans include adding support for dark mode and light mode into individual color palettes, having each theme own its own color palette, and update pages for choosing and configuring themes and components. We’re also working on a new branding page focused on a simpler UI for adding logos, selecting fonts, and color palettes. A new theme focused on ease of use We are beginning to design a new theme, which we intend to make the default theme for all new communities, that is specifically designed with ease of use in mind. Our goal is to create a beautiful out-of-the-box experience for Discourse, particularly for those without the resources, know-how, or patience for in-depth site appearance customizations. In full swing One-click spam detector We now offer a one-click spam detector available in the AI plugin settings. It helps identify potential spam using LLMs and flags it for site moderators to inspect in the review queue. As an admin, if you want to use a Discourse hosted open-weights LLM for this feature, simply enable it from the What’s New section. We’ve also been making some targeted improvements to the review queue to take advantage of these features and are in the early stages of discussing a more focused effort on improvements there. Support for multiple drafts We are in the middle of this project to make it easier to write and respond to topics in your community. We’re beginning with updates to make it easier to access your existing drafts through the New Topic button, and will soon be touching up the Drafts list before finalizing support for multiple drafts. Composer redesign We’re in the middle of internal testing for our redesigned, rich text editor to ensure it supports basic formatting and features. Next, we’ll be working on updating the composer toolbar and then we will continue our testing here on Meta and with a select beta group of customers. Admin interface design consistency We made significant progress in the past month in making the admin UI more consistent. We still have more planned here, but if you haven’t spent time browsing around in the admin UI recently, take it for a spin and let us know if anything pops out as being inconsistent. More tools for legal compliance In light of new legislation for online platforms, such as the Digital Services Act, we are providing more tools for admins to ensure their sites are compliant with these laws. These will largely be optional new settings that will be available to all sites. Post menu, topic-list and icon upgrades Our work on these behind-the-scenes projects is nearing completion. Most communities have been automatically switched to the new implementations. If you see any warning banners about incompatible customisations, then please take a look at the relevant topic for the topic list, the post menu, or the fontawesome upgrade. Wrapping up Instant plan upgrades on hosting For sites on our hosting, it’s now possible to instantly upgrade your plan from your admin dashboard, so you don’t need to wait if you run into a feature that you need but which is not available on your current plan. Adding one-click unsubscribes for community emails We’ve added support for one-click / easy unsubscribing from emails sent from Discourse communities so we can comply with recent Google and Yahoo requirements. Making it easier for uninterested users to unsubscribe from emails protects overall email deliverability, since those users are then less likely to report unwanted email as spam. Improved setup wizard for new sites We have worked through some incremental improvements to the setup wizard, making the options clearer, and steps ordered more naturally. The preview pane and font previews have also been updated to make setting up your site’s design more intuitive.
